Participants will acquire and practice skills in biology, economics, law and social science as they deal with these issues that impact and cross a wide range of perspectives and disciplines, including the emerging areas of rights- and ecosystem-based fisheries management. The program will prepare students to be the link between scientists, decision-makers and stakeholders when handling multi-faceted issues that come with managing commercial fisheries. The certificate program explores curriculum in a variety of areas emphasizing critical-thinking, problem-solving and implementation.
