As a student at Des Moines University's College of Podiatric Medicine and Surgery, you will spend the first year studying the basic medical sciences alongside students in the osteopathic medicine program, followed by specialization in the foot and ankle during the second year. In this way, you are trained as a physician first, then as a foot and ankle specialist. Graduates enjoy opportunities to enter highly renowned residency programs in prestigious hospitals and clinics throughout the U.S. Averages for 2009 incoming students: Overall GPA 3.35; science GPA 3.24.
