Students receive a broad knowledge base in training and development: curriculum is flexible enough for those who want to acquire in-depth knowledge and skills in a particular area of the field. The program is especially appropriate for those who have a business or technology-oriented undergraduate degree or professional experience in business or human resources. Graduates will be able to analyze training and development needs; design, develop, deliver and evaluate training programs and material; manage and coordinate training efforts; and develop training and development competencies in managers and supervisors. The Training and Development program also offers a two year off-campus cohort option.     Accreditation Information: The Graduate School at UW-Stout is fully accredited by the North Central Association of Colleges and Secondary Schools (NCA) to offer programs at the master's and education specialist levels.  # Of Credits Required: 30  Time To Degree: 1-2 years    Previous Degrees BS/BA degree in Techical or Business field or a field of related Training and Development from an accredited institution. Overall grade point average (GPA) of at least 2.75. Applicants may be admitted on probationary status if their overall GPA is at least 2.5, but less than 2.75. A deficiency in these admission requirements may require completion of additional undergraduate courses, and/or an increase in the number of graduate credits required to earn the degree.  Pre-Requisite Courses The pre-requisite requirements are as follows: Introductory Training and Development course (i.e. Training Systems in Business & Industry) and Organizational Leadership course. Also, an introductory course in Computer Applications or equivalent computer experience.  International Student Requirements Admission requirements include: (1) Admission to a graduate degree program and the Graduate School; (2) English proficiency TOEFL score of at least 173 computer-based and 500 paper-based or 213 computer-based, 550 paper-based depending on which program is chosen, and 61 Internet-based. Test scores should be sent directly to UW-Stout (school code #1740); (3) Official copies of all post-secondary transcripts (translated into English), including proof of baccalaureate and/or highest earned degree; (4) Undergraduate GPA of at least 2.75 on a 4.0 scale; (5) specific program requirements.
