Theory and application are emphasized through real life problems in education, business and industry. Each student selects and individual career emphasis. By formal agreement, graduates of the Ed.S. program are invited to pursue a Ph.D. or Ed.D. at the University of Minnesota, Work and Human Resources Education (WHRE). That program was ranked number two in the country by US News and World Report (2007). The UW-Stout Ed.S. degree serves as the specialization for either the Ph.D. or the Ed.D. degree.     Accreditation Information: The Graduate School of UW-Stout is fully accredited by the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools (NCA) to offer programs at the master's and education specialist levels.  # Of Credits Required: 30  Time To Degree: 1-2 years    Previous Degrees BS/BA degree (such as Industrial or Technology Education, Marketing Education, Vocational Education, or an equivalent in related fields) . Overall grade point average (GPA) of at least a 2.75. Applicants lacking necessary education, scientific, or technical background, or having a grade point average of 2.25, may be admitted on probation. A deficiency in these requirements does not preclude admissions, but may require the completion of additional course work to earn the degree.  Pre-Requisite Courses International Student Requirements Admission requirements include: (1) Admission to a graduate degree program and the Graduate School; (2) English proficiency TOEFL score of at least 173 computer-based and 500 paper-based or 213 computer-based, 550 paper-based depending on which program is chosen, and 61 Internet-based. Test scores should be sent directly to UW-Stout (school code #1740); (3) Official copies of all post-secondary transcripts (translated into English), including proof of baccalaureate and/or highest earned degree; (4) Undergraduate GPA of at least 2.75 on a 4.0 scale; (5) specific program requirements.
