The Master of Arts in Global Security Studies at Johns Hopkins University’s Washington, D.C. Center takes a hard, practical look at global security – with particular focus on three key sectors: economic, environmental and military security. The highest levels of government and private industry are racing to meet the challenges of securing these sectors and, as they do, they’ll need a seasoned and well trained workforce to lead the way. The Master of Arts in Global Security Studies Program will prepare students to lead this charge and to help them ensure a more secure future. Curriculum and Classes The curriculum of the Master of Arts in Global Security Studies is designed for working professionals who are looking to expand their expertise in identifying, assessing and responding to security challenges of the 21st Century, with an eye to developing the perspective needed to effect smart policy in this area. Classes are designed to maximize individual attention, encourage student contribution, build analytical skills and provide the tools for engaging in original research. There is an active speaker and symposia calendar of events as well, and students are required to attend two such events for each course they take.
