The Georgetown University Master of Arts in Liberal Studies program addresses the many dimensions of mind, spirit, and personality that contribute to your leadership potential. It is a journey for the intellectually curious who want to objectively explore connections among the arts, politics, ethics, and society throughout history and literature. Liberal Studies is an interdisciplinary approach to education that prepares you to act as you discover the true nature of your values and ideals. In the course of your study, you will acquire a great deal of specialized knowledge. More importantly, you will acquire the insight and skills to realize your full potential as you pursue your passions and take your place as an informed leader in your world. Ethics and values are the underpinnings of the Liberal Studies program. Beyond that, you will engage in a course of study that examines the most profound philosophical, cultural, and social concepts throughout recorded history. It spans disciplines from the humanities, history, literature, philosophy, and the arts to theology, politics, policy, and international affairs. By understanding past and present human behavior in all its interconnected complexity, you’ll gain a perspective that few have. The knowledge that you acquire will help you adjust or validate your own values, and you will learn how to effectively put that knowledge into action.     Accreditation Information:   # Of Credits Required:   Time To Degree:     Previous Degrees Candidates for the Master's degree must have completed a Bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year college with a cumulative G.P.A. of about 3.0 or higher. Applicants are requested to include "sealed" official transcripts of all previous college or university-level records in their Application Packet. Applicants may be asked to provide catalogs containing course descriptions of previous academic work proposed for transfer to Georgetown in partial fulfillment of degree requirements.  Pre-Requisite Courses International Student Requirements Students with transcripts from International schools may also be required to submit a third-party evaluation of the degree/transcript before we can examine it.
