The PhD program is intended to train graduate student in the fields of: Cancer biology Cancer chemotherapy Genomic imprinting Neurovirology/Neuroscience Senescence and cancer Vascular biology Contemporary as well as state-of-the-art research techniques and methodologies are being utilized to investigate important issues associated with human diseases in several basic as well as translational research projects. During the first two years, the PhD student is expected to complete the required core curriculum by participating in the Interdisciplinary Biomedical Sciences Program as well as department-specific coursework. The comprehensive Interdisciplinary program is designed to meet the educational needs of students from diverse backgrounds. After completion of the Interdisciplinary Program, the students are exposed to courses that build upon their existing knowledge in their field of interest. Completion of such rigorous training will allow graduating students the ability to be independent scholars in academic and/or industrial settings.
