This certificate has been designed to upgrade professional skills and knowledge related to substance abuse, screening, prevention, and referral. This certificate can be earned as an independent certificate or can be used to supplement graduate education in related fields such as Applied Health Psychology, Public Health, Nursing, Educational Psychology, Counseling Psychology, Sociology, Criminal Justice, Medical Anthropology and other related fields. The NAU Interdisciplinary Gradutate Certificate in Substance Abuse Education and Prevention (IGCSAEP) may be earned: • As a post-baccalaureate certificate • In conjunction with a graduate degree • To complement an earned graduate degree Completion of the NAU IGCSAEP improves professional competence relevant for a number of different careers.
