The Doctorate of Psychology (Psy.D.)degree program in Applied Behavior Analysis develops expert knowledge in behavior analytic theory, research, and practice. Graduates will be equipped to serve as leaders in educational, clinical and business settings. The program is designed to prepare students to contribute to research and practice that further advances an integrated, scientific understanding of the complexities of human behavior. The ABA Psy.D. is appropriate for working professionals such as Board-certified Behavior Analysts (BCBAs), regular and special education teachers, licensed clinical psychologists, counseling or social work professionals, and human service program managers and supervisors with client responsibilities from early childhood through elder care. Courses offered cover a range of topics within behavior analysis including; behavior analysis in education, assessment and treatment for individuals with and without developmental disabilities, verbal behavior, the experimental analysis of behavior, performance management, behavioral health, precision teaching, and behavioral theory and philosophy. The faculty within the ABA department is highly qualified, having experiences both within the academic setting and as professionals in applied settings. Graduates of the ABA doctoral program are prepared to teach at the undergraduate and graduate levels, and to work in various settings including community service agencies, mental health services, therapeutic day schools, child and adolescent facilities, family counseling centers, group homes, substance abuse programs, and in independent practice.
