By connecting theory and practice, the MALD program trains broadly knowledgeable leaders to develop a thorough grounding in the latest political, economic, business, and legal thinking. - MIB: The Master of International Business is a unique hybrid of a business degree and an international affairs degree. This two-year interdisciplinary program allows students to gain a foundation of business skills as well as the international knowledge necessary for working in a global business environment. The integrated MIB curriculum ensures that students not only understand how companies operate, but also the complex context in which they operate. -MA: Fletcher's Master of Arts degree is a one-year program for mid-career professionals on sabbatical or leave of absence from government ministries, private international organizations and other institutions. The MA allows mid-career individuals to gain new skills and knowledge while immersed in a diverse environment where the latest political, business and legal thinking is pursued. -LLM: The Master of Laws in International Law is a one-year, full-time academic degree for legal professionals who wish to obtain specialized education in a particular area of international law. Fletcher’s LL.M. is intended to provide a broader contextual understanding—not only of the law but also of the disparate societies and inter-societal milieu in which it is made, interpreted, and applied. -PhD: Fletcher PhD students’ research ranges from climate change to post-conflict societies to nuclear proliferation. Their research shares an interdisciplinary approach and a focus on real-world situations. Admission requires prior completion of a master’s degree in a field relevant to international relations and the proposed PhD studies.     Accreditation Information:   # Of Credits Required:   Time To Degree:     Previous Degrees For the MALD, MIB and MA degree, we require an undergraduate degree. The LLM degree requires a law degree or certification to practice law in one's home country. The PhD requires prior completion of a master’s degree in a field that is relevant to international relations and directly related to the applicant’s proposed PhD studies.  Pre-Requisite Courses No specific courses are required, but for those in the MALD and MIB programs, some quantitative coursework such as microeconomics, macroeconomics and/or statistics is preferred.  International Student Requirements Regardless of degree program, International Students whose first language is not English and who have completed their undergraduate degree in a language other than English must submit a TOEFL or IELTS. The minimum TOEFL scores are 100 (iBT) or 600 (PBT). The minimum IELTS score is 7.0.  Requirements Qualifying Exam: Minimum Exam Score: GPA or Equivalent: English Proficiency: Yes Research Competency: Clinical Internship:   Work Experience Work experience is strongly recommended for all degree programs, but the amount and type of experience varies by program. English is considered the second language for students whose first language is not English.  Other Requirements In addition to the TOEFL/IELTS requirement listed above, we require the following standardized tests: For the MALD, MA and PhD programs: All U.S. citizens and permanent residents are required to take the GRE or the GMAT. Subject tests of the GRE are not required. International students who have earned an undergraduate or graduate degree in which English was the primary language of instruction are required to take the GRE or GMAT.
