The Department of Kinesiology offers a Master of Science Degree in Exercise Science in either clinical or applied exercise physiology. The Master of Science Degree in Exercise Science at ULM has been endorsed by the American College of Sports Medicine at the Exercise Specialist level and was the first program to be accredited in the United States through the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP). The graduate program is also accredited through the Committee on Accreditation for the Exercise Sciences (CoAES). Both the clinical and applied exercise physiology programs engage the students in 36 semester hours of exercise science coursework, including advanced physiology, research methods, exercise prescription, exercise electrocardiography, cardiac rehabilitation, and cardiovascular physiology. The clinical and applied exercise physiology programs include six hours of internship, six hours of thesis, or a combination of both.
