A clinical nurse leader (CNL) is an advanced generalist clinician that brings a high level of clinical competence and knowledge to the point of care and serves as a resource for the nursing team. Clinical leadership skills are developed through active participation in and leadership of interdisciplinary treatment teams under the supervision of a clinical preceptor and faculty advisor.
