Boston University's graduate level Forensic Sciences Program is designed to train individuals in the field of forensic science. Aside from being the first of its kind at a major medical institution in the United States, the M.S. program in Forensic Science is unique in the ways in which it is delivered. Faculty from Boston University Schools of Medicine and Law, as well as city, state and federal forensic laboratories and agencies make Boston University’s Forensic Sciences Program a leader in forensic education. The faculty possess extensive experience in casework and courtroom settings in all fields of forensic science - including, but not limited to - arson and explosives; medico-legal death; DNA; forensic biology; trace analysis; pattern analysis; toxicology and law. Dr. Robin Cotton, a DNA expert who has testified in over 200 cases - including various high-profile cases - is the program director.
