Doctoral Ph.D., M.S./Pharm.D. On Campus   Pharmacy established the first professional program at The University of Oklahoma in 1893. The College now offers the Pharm.D. degree, and Pharmaceutical Sciences programs, offering M.S. and Ph.D. degrees, on campuses located in Oklahoma City and Tulsa. The University of Oklahoma College of Pharmacy is committed to the education of professional and graduate students who, upon graduation, can meet the public need for safe and effective pharmaceutical care. Students attend class sessions in Oklahoma City or Tulsa as assigned during the admission process. Class sessions meet concurrently on both campuses, joined by innovative technologies, and live access to faculty. Interactive classrooms feature multiple viewing monitors, personal microphones, and state-of-the-art presentation equipment to provide the student and faculty with the tools necessary to enhance learning. The curriculum features the integration of basic and applied clinical sciences. First year courses provide a strong foundation of basic science coursework and an orientation to pharmacy practice. Second year courses provide integrated learning opportunities through a series of pharmaceutical care modules organized around organ systems and disease states. The modules are an educational framework offering faculty the opportunity to link complex therapeutic topics in context with a given groups of diseases and apply that knowledge to concepts learned in prior courses. In addition to the modules, students in the second and third professional years complete courses in areas related to drug information systems, pharmacy and health care management, pharmacy law and ethics, communications, and applications of advanced practice skills. The fourth professional year is devoted to nine one-month experiential rotations, as a precursor to the careers in all professional practice settings in which our graduates are employed.     Accreditation Information: ACPE  # Of Credits Required:   Time To Degree: 4 years    Previous Degrees Pre-Requisite Courses 70-80 semester hours of specific coursework.
