The graduate program in biochemistry is designed to reach working professionals who can not meet in a traditional classroom. The program is designed to be completed on a part-time basis. Lecture materials are presented through the Internet. Course work in the curriculum integrates the fields of biology and chemistry. The core curriculum consists of three required courses: Thermo-chemistry, Biochemistry and Genetics. In addition to these the student may tailor their program to meet their specific needs. Elective courses are taught from a broad range of topics including: immunology, endocrinology, advanced organic chemistry and the biochemistry of cancer. In addition, new special topics courses maintain the program on the forefront of chemical research. The program can involve thesis work or consist of coursework only. Both the thesis and the non-thesis options result in 30 graduate credits.
