This Post Baccalaureate Teacher Licensure Program is ideal for people that have had successful careers but have always wanted to be a teacher. We offer the program for people that would like to be elementary, secondary, or K-12 educators. More information may be found at www.uncpostbac.com. The elementary program is about 1 year long, 48 credits, and is offered at our campuses in Greeley, Denver, and Loveland. The secondary program is about one year long (depending on completion of content work) and is offered in Greeley. Our 4-6 Bridge post bac degree is offered in Greeley and is perfect for those educators that have a Birth-Third Licensure, and would like to add the 4-6 licensure in one summer. The average age for these programs is 40 and the hiring rate for graduates is at 96%. We take pride in the successful field experiences that are part of our Post Baccalaureate programs including reading/tutoring components, practicum work, and student teaching. These experiences give students an amazing opportunity to be out in the field while still working with a UNC supervisor for feedback, advice, and constructive criticism. The program is in a cohort model which also has many inherent benefits. Because these programs (except the 4-6 Bridge) are at the graduate level the student may have up to 15 credits count towards a Master's Degree in Teaching, which leaves the candidate with 5 classes and one year's experience with their own classroom to obtain their Master of Arts in Teaching.
