Boston University’s School of Public Health programs provide a comprehensive, well-rounded education in all facets of public health. The School offers educational opportunities for individuals who wish to pursue different levels and approaches to public health. Our goal is to ensure that BUSPH graduates have the knowledge and skills to address complex public health problems and thereby advance the health of populations. The School’s involvement with a variety of communities – through meaningful partnerships with local, state, national, and international agencies and organizations – provides students with an exciting variety of hands-on learning opportunities. We educate current and future public health professionals for practice-oriented careers that will bring change and effective solutions to public health issues. All of our courses are taught by full-time faculty and by instructors who conduct research and practice public health in the community. Faculty members are biostatisticians, epidemiologists, engineers, social scientists, economists, lawyers, and physicians who focus on finding real solutions to public health problems and on empowering communities to implement them. The School of Public Health encompasses eight departments – Biostatistics; Environmental Health; Epidemiology; Health Law, Bioethics, and Human Rights; Health Policy and Management; International Health; Maternal and Child Health; and Social and Behavioral Sciences – offering MPH, DrPH, MA, MSc, DSc, and PhD degree programs. BUSPH offers six joint degree programs in collaboration with the School of Law, School of Management, the School of Social Work, the Division of Graduate Medical Sciences, the School of Medicine, and Sargent College of Health and Rehabilitation Sciences (JD/MPH, MBA/MPH, MSW/MPH, MA/MPH, MD/MPH, and BS/MPH respectively). Coursework can be completed on a part- or full-time basis. Applicants may apply for the fall or spring semester.
