Field specialties of Bryn Mawr's faculty include the Middle Ages, the Renaissance, 17th century, the Enlightenment, 19th and 20th century literature and civilization, and Francophone North African, West African, sub-Saharan and Caribbean literature. Literary theory is presented in theory-specific and field courses.
