On Campus

The philosophy of the Communication Studies program is based on communication excellence in written, public and group contexts. Graduate study in Communication provides students with advanced skills and knowledge applicable to a variety of public/professional contexts. The program enables students to acquire skills in public relations and organizational communication. Graduates can apply the knowledge gained to their current work environment or to continue for doctoral study. Features of the program include small classes, individualized attention, independent study opportunities in areas of interest, the opportunity to take cognate classes in other departments, and a thesis/non-thesis graduation option. Graduate classes typically meet once a week in the evening allowing part-time students to take two courses a week and complete the 33 credits required for the program in 5-6 semesters.
