The Department of Biochemistry at Wake Forest University School of Medicine is a highly interactive group consisting of 26 full-time faculty, 10 postdoctoral fellows, 27 graduate students, and 40 research and administrative staff. Our mission is to undertake research on the molecular basis of diseases that affect humanity, train a new generation of scientists and physicians, and provide a collaborative link between other biomedical sciences and more basic sciences, such as chemistry and physics.The Department features research and training in four key technologies that form the core of modern Biochemistry:Structural Biology Molcular BiologyGenetics/GenomicsProteomics/ Metabolomics     Accreditation Information: Wake Forest University is accredited regionally by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools, Commission on Colleges (SACSCC).
