Master's
M.A.- Oral Traditions ( with a focus on Hispanic Traditions )
On Campus

An exploration of the cultural heritages of the various Hispanic communities will allow Connecticut educators to discover how the Hispanic culture sustains itself and flourishes through its oral traditions. The oral tradition is one of the more profound universal arts, and one that has a unique place in the ongoing process of a multicultural society. Thus, the need to explore and study these various regional cultures is served through a program that addresses the historic, sociological, multicultural and evolutionary aspects of this population. As a special cohort of The Graduate Institute, the goals of the program are to provide participants with an advanced level of knowledge in the origins, history, art and development of Hispanic oral traditions. Upon completion of the program, each colleague will have had expanded opportunities to explore and apply their understanding in cultural and educational environments.
