On Campus

The Department of Art as Applied to Medicine offers a graduate program with easy access to all the facilities of the world renowned Johns Hopkins Medical Institutions. Both a large faculty of Certified Medical Illustrators (CMI) and the world rewound clinical and research faculty offer courses in the curriculum. The extensive training in medicine and science offered, allows the student to create visuals and interpret material to record and disseminate medical and biological knowledge. Facilities allow students to observe and participate in production functions, use the most technologically advanced equipment, and observe a faculty that is actively illustrating for the Hopkins Medicine. Graduates not only acquire the knowledge to produce still images for print and digital three-dimensional models for animations and the World Wide Web but also function as consultants and administrators within the field of biocommunication or medical visualization.
