Courses of study are tailored to match the professional goals of each student. A dissertation based on original research is required for the PhD, and a thesis option is available for students in the MS program interested in research-related careers. A non-thesis option for the MS degree is also available for students planning a career in landscape design, extension, consulting, or other fields not related to research.

Accreditation Information: Clemson is classified by the Carnegie Foundation as a Doctoral/Research University-Extensive, a category comprising less than 4 percent of all universities in America.
