Program Options
  • Master of Education with certification by the Council on Education of the Deaf (CED) with concentration in a specialty area, and with Pennsylvania Certification as a teacher for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (N-12).
  • CED and Pennsylvania certification only.
  • An individualized Master of Education degree programs graduate students who already hold certification in teaching the deaf and hard of hearing.
The program thus accommodates students who have completed a bachelor's degree in areas such as education, speech and hearing, psychology, and related fields and who want to be trained as teachers of the deaf. In addition, the program accommodates students who have already been trained and certified in an undergraduate program in education of the deaf and who wish to take additional coursework for a master's degree.
