Degrees: Program Format:
Master's
M.S.-Special Education; M.Ed.-Special Education
Online

The University of North Dakota's fully online Master’s in Special Education prepares you to serve students with mild to moderate disabilities by qualifying you to:

  • diagnose difficulties for children and young adults
  • plan curricular approaches
  • develop and deliver instructional programs with the help of other pertinent professionals in the school

This program enables you to apply what you have learned in a practicum/internship setting so you can further refine diagnostic and prescriptive skills with children and young adults. It also encourages you to have an inquiring and questioning attitude towards your profession and to become conversant with the literature of the field and be encouraged to be a lifelong learner.

          How Online Degrees Work

As an online student in "live" Web class sessions, you will:

  • participate in class sessions that are conducted "live" over the Internet. Typically, online classes are held at set times that are convenient for most students, such as the evenings and/or weekends.
  • interact with your instructors and other students using Web-conferencing technology.
  • see your instructors' materials as though you were sitting in a classroom on the UND campus.

In this manner, the class lectures, discussion, and collaboration are conducted in a very similar fashion to traditional on-campus classes.

          Tuition

Regardless of where you live, you will pay in-state tuition for all online courses.
