The Graduate Program in French Studies offers students a broad interdisciplinary approach to French literature from the early period through the 17th, 18th, 19th and 20th centuries and to Francophone literatures and cultures, particularly those of Africa, the Caribbean and the West. A broad interdisciplinary focus insures for students ample freedom in the choice of a methodological framework for their research. Faculty have extensive research links with specialized research centers in Francophone countries.
