The Landscape Architecture Program at the University of Michigan reflects the strengths of its students, faculty and academic setting -- the School of Natural Resources and Environment (SNRE). Conservation biology, ecosystem management, landscape ecology, conservation behavior, environmental policy and economics, and environmental justice are recognized strengths of the School. The landscape architecture curriculum draws from and contributes to these strengths. Landscape architecture instruction is based on a substantive foundation of ecology and culture. Faculty scholarship and practice also expose students to the convergence of culture and ecology in design and planning.
