Grounded in the cognitive-behavioral tradition, the program emphasizes the application of psychological theory and techniques to the treatment of medical problems. The department chairperson, Dr. Arthur Freeman, was a pioneer in the field of cognitive-behavioral theory and is an internationally renowned expert on the subject.
