The Master of Arts in Healthcare Informatics and Information Management (HIIM) from The College of St. Scholastica is primarily an online program that facilitates the career advancement of practicing Health Information Management professionals and offers a new career path to those with non-HIIM backgrounds. The program emphasizes quality healthcare data as the foundation for organizational information and knowledge management systems. This advanced education prepares HIIM professionals for responsibilities in areas such as healthcare data resources administration, healthcare data security oversight, strategic and operational information resource planning, clinical data analysis, information systems development, and implementation. Graduates of the Master of Arts in HIIM, who are not already credentialed, are eligible to sit for the RHIA national exam. St. Scholastica Master’s graduates have a pass rate of 100% on the exam. Successful completion of the Master of Arts in Healthcare Informatics and Information Management requires 39 credits to complete and is offered online with two on-campus seminars. Students have the opportunity to network with fellow career professionals and interact with faculty at two one-week on-campus seminars which are offered in either Minnesota or California throughout the year.

Accreditation Information: The College of St. Scholastica is accredited by The Higher Learning Commission and the HIIM program approved by The American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA).
