Certification also requires a passing score on the TExES examination and a Masters Degree. The Deaf and Hard of Hearing plan requires general special education courses required for the Masters of Education in Special Education and additional coursework in Deaf and Hard of Hearing, including an Internship. Certification requirements at Texas Tech meet and exceed State of Texas requirements for teachers of students who are deaf and hard of hearing.
