The mission of the Master of Social Work degree program at Valdosta State University is the education of students for Advanced Generalist Practice in rural and small communities.
The Advanced Generalist program broadens and adds depth to the values, knowledge, and skills of the Generalist social worker. Social workers in Advanced Generalist Practice use their advanced skills as direct service providers in interventions with individuals, families, groups and communities, as supervisors, managers, administrators, researchers and social planners. VSU offers both a web-hybrid option and on-campus options for the MSW (Please note that field practicums are geographically limited.)
