Master of Education (M.Ed.), with an emphasis in Learning and Instruction and a focus in Gifted Education

MUÆs online master of education degree with a focus in gifted education is a convenient way for practicing teachers to obtain a masterÆs degree focusing on gifted education or to take gifted education courses in preparation for Missouri certification through the Department of Special Education at the University of Missouri-Columbia. This program is composed of core courses and courses focused in gifted education. The core course work includes study in learning theory, instructional technology, instructional leadership, instructional strategies and measurement and assessment, and action research. These courses are designed to enhance the process of teaching and learning in the elementary, middle or high school classroom. All core courses are online and accessible from any computer with an Internet connection. Focus area courses include a combination of online course work and campus visits. No thesis is required.
