The specialised nature of sonography, however, gives rise to the need for further education in this field in order to gain professionally accredited qualifications. The new Graduate Diploma (Sonography) program will provide a mechanism for medical radiations graduates (or equivalent) to further their knowledge, both theoretical and practical, in ultrasound to the level of a beginning practitioner.
