This program draws upon specialized knowledge in the mathematical, physical, and behavioral sciences, as well as principles of engineering analysis and design, to specify, predict, analyze, improve, and control the performance of productive systems made up of people, machines, materials, information, and technology. Students gain experience in topic areas including reliability engineering, process capability analysis, control charting, organizational performance measurement, supplier certification methods, TQM, methods of statistical process control, acceptance sampling, specifications and tolerances, failure analysis, Six Sigma concepts, quality function deployment, business process re-engineering, Taguchi methods of off-line quality control, experimental design, and other dimensions of quality engineering. The program also integrates technical skills with business.
