Advancements in the areas of system design, planning, and operations are critical to a manufacturing company's ability to respond effectively to a changing global marketplace. Rensselaer is well-known for its expertise in the area of manufacturing, and the Office of Professional and Distance Education brings this expertise to its audience through its distance program. MS students follow a core of required courses in manufacturing and may specialize in one of two concentrations: Reliability or Information Science. The Manufacturing Systems Engineering program combines manufacturing courses from the Schools of Engineering, Science, and Management.
