The LLM Programmes are taught only by distance learning. This means that there are no classes either full or part time. Students are supplied with materials for each of the modules they study, and they work through the materials on their own. The materials indicate books, articles and other sources, which should be read but they do not contain the reading, so you will need access to a good university law library. There are four visits to the university during the year - the first is a Saturday and Sunday, subsequently on Saturday only - at which students may meet tutors and each other, and participate in tutorials. This programme is suited to lawyers and others working in a business environment to give academic support to their existing practice or experience, and to practitioners and others who wish to develop a specialism in aspects of business law. This degree programme may also be suitable for students based outside the United Kingdom, but such students must be able to prove that they have access to university library facilities which hold substantial stocks of English Law materials (law reports and journals) relevant to the business law area.
