On Campus

KUÆs graduate program in Russian, East European and Eurasian Studies trains specialists in the areas of Russia, the Caucasus, Central Asia, and East and Central Europe. As well as becoming experts in one specific geographical area, REES students gain a broad working knowledge of the region as a whole. Students in the M.A. program take courses in politics, literature, economics, history, sociology, geography, philosophy, and religion. The REES program offers language and area instruction in Russian, Ukrainian, Polish, and Bosnian/Croatian/Serbian. The curriculum provides a full program of enhancement activities (lectures, films, conferences), and supports student and faculty exchange with Russia and Eastern and Central Europe. Classes are small, and students work closely with their advisers and other faculty members in constructing programs to meet their specific career needs.

Accreditation Information: Since 1943, KU has been training specialists in Russia, Eastern Europe and Eurasia and has been a U.
