The Literacy Instruction MasterÆs degree program leads to initial certification as a reading specialist for teachers with initial certification in early childhood, childhood, or middle childhood education, or adolescent education in the content areas of biology, business, chemistry, English, French, mathematics, social studies, and Spanish. These programs also lead to professional certification in the area of the general branch initial certification and prepares candidates to serve the needs of all literacy learners through research-supported and constructivist teaching practices.
