It emphasizes a broad-based higher education and leadership focus. Unique to this program is an emphasis on diversity in higher education, including a required course on "diversity and equity in higher ed," as well as a required, individualized diversity cognate for all students. This diversity cognate can be fulfilled by traditional classroom based courses, travel abroad, participation in focused workshops/conferences, and independent studies. The program has one 300-clock hour field experience, and one 100 -clock hour Capstone experience.
