Florida A&M University is proud of its glorious past and long tradition of excellence in nursing education. Close student-faculty relationships prepare graduates who possess clinical reasoning skills, are technologically proficient, grounded in principles of social justice, and able to practice professionally in a variety of medical/health care delivery systems. The faculty, grounded in their understanding of the realities of delivering services, is focused on the many contemporary community-based health promotion and disease prevention nursing and health care challenges that face rural and urban population across the lifespan.

The Master's Program leads to a Master's of Science degree. Building upon the knowledge and skills acquired in the baccalaureate program, it provides the opportunity for nurses with Bachelor's degrees in nursing to expand their knowledge and skills in a specialized practice area as an Advanced Practice Nurse (APN). The framework for practice is created from multidimensional relationships among theory, research and clinical practice. The clinical experiences allow you to have 'hands-on' practice in a broad range of primary care challenges. Most important, your clinical competence is fostered by the preceptorship of clinically faculty.
