The Legal Nurse Consultant Certificate Program at UC Riverside Extension, established in cooperation with the UC Davis School of Law, is an American Bar Association-approved program, which offers a quality, rigorous and challenging legal education to qualified registered nurses. Students are cautioned regarding restrictions against the unauthorized practice of law by non-lawyers.
Employment involves a variety of opportunities, including law firms specializing in personal injury, medical malpractice, toxic torts, product liability and workers compensation; insurance companies; hospitals and other health care providers; government agencies; risk management organizations; and as independent consultants.
