Graduate students with a major or minor in child psychology can enroll in this certificate program to gain an understanding of how knowledge in child development and psychology can be used to influence issues and policies at the local, state, and national level. They will learn how to solve pressing real-life problems and to improve the lives of children. Students explore ethical issues, media and children's programming, nutrition and hunger, accidents and safety issues, the judicial system's impact on children, the design and role of children's museums, and the development of children's toys, games, and recreational activities.
