Certificate of Advanced Graduate Study in Teacher Leadership
On Campus

Today’s classrooms call for teacher leaders with highly developed knowledge and skills—advanced practitioners who are ready to serve in the classroom as catalysts for change. Our groundbreaking new master’s program in teacher leadership will prepare you to expand your role and broaden your impact as an educator—without leaving the classroom. The program is designed for experienced teachers from the pre-kindergarten to the high school levels with certificates in early childhood, elementary, secondary, special education, and K-12 specialty areas. Our program is organized around a central theme: Teaching as a catalyst for change. You’ll engage in critical inquiry and study current issues and practices in the education field. You’ll apply best practices and develop innovative projects for your classroom and school community. And you’ll gain the advanced tools you need to become a teacher leader and promote positive change for improving student motivation and learning. This is a 10-course, 30-hour program that readily accommodates the schedules of working teachers. Most classes meet on weekday evenings, and we offer several innovative scheduling formats. For instance, some courses are offered in intensive formats over the summer; others include an online component. You may complete the program in 18 months of full-time study, or take up to four years to finish. Courses are not sequential, so the order in which you complete your course work is up to you.
