Part of Chicago's long-standing tradition of cross-disciplinary study, a Committee is a degree-granting program comparable to a department; faculty, however, are drawn from various departments and disciplines. In cases where students are interested in focusing on film and media while working toward a degree in another department or committee, the Committee offers a minor concentration in Cinema and Media Studies which could take the the form of a joint degree or a certificate.
