Its Master of Environmental Science (M.En.) professional degree program, developed in 1969, is one of the oldest and largest in the United States. The program philosophy emphasizes a systematic and interdisciplinary approach to environmental issues and the effective communication of knowledge and information. The degree prepares students for work in public service, government, education, or nonprofit environmental organizations.
