The program seeks to prepare students for careers in a variety of settings (i.e., community, educational, social service), as well as additional academic study within the family and child studies field. The program is based on a core of courses to provide a strong foundation in the theories and methodologies applicable to the study of diverse families and children. In addition, the core courses provide students with the opportunity to demonstrate their creative application of theory and methods through the development of a thesis.
