This is an interdisciplinary program in Modern Middle Eastern and North African area studies designed for students seeking a broad introduction to the Middle East and North Africa. Courses are drawn from many units throughout the University including Near Eastern Studies, History, Political Science, Public Health, Law, Business, Sociology, and Anthropology; students take courses in three to five disciplines and are required to study a modern Middle Eastern language (Modern Standard or Colloquial Arabic, Persian, Turkish, or Hebrew) for at least a year and preferably more. Fellowships available.
