M.S.- Anesthesia

The program faculty is dedicated to helping students achieve full professional competency. In addition to administering anesthesia and monitoring patients during surgery, these competencies include selecting and administering preoperative medication and anesthesia and managing postoperative recovery from anesthesia.The program combines academic and clinical anesthesia courses taught at Hurley and at the University of Michigan-Flint. At the completion of the program, a Master of Science in Anesthesia degree is granted by the University of Michigan-Flint. Graduates then are eligible to take the National Certification Examination.Certification is required by law in two-thirds of the states and by the majority of employers to practice as a nurse anesthetist.
