Masters in Student Media Advising

Designed primarily for journalism teachers and/or student media advisers on all levels, the program will train teachers/advisers or those aspiring to teach journalism and/or advise student media in areas relating to their everyday work in the field.

Students specializing in student media advising must take two additional three-credit graduate courses in the School of Journalism and Mass Communication in an appropriate area of emphasis. Courses must be approved by the student's advisor.

At least nine hours must be in an area of concentration outside the School of Journalism and Mass Communication. A minimum of three of those credits must be at the graduate level (5000 or 6000).

In addition to the above listed requirements each student must complete a Professional Project or Thesis.
