It seeks to educate the student as a liberal artist who is able to prescribe, create, and analyze music for holistic development. The content and organization of the program relies on a common core of studies which support the philosophical, cultural and aesthetic concepts which are derived from the traditions of western as well as non-western performance practices in music. Those concepts are extended into the practice of Music Therapy and relate directly to advanced research in the discipline.
